An Actors Studio Covid Marshal will be on duty at all times to ensure safety measures are met and maintained. For classes not held at Pinewood Studios, the Class Tutor/Director will also act as the Covid Marshal for Actors Studio. You must not attend your workshop/course/filming session if you have Covid – 19 symptoms. We will reschedule your booking if you cannot attend due to Covid-19. You must follow Government guidelines if travelling to Actors Studio/class location by public transport. Pinewood Studios and our Partner Venues offer hand washing facilities that are regularly cleaned. Studio Risk Assessments are available if requested. Before you enter our studio space, please use the toilet/bathroom facilities to thoroughly wash your hands with soap and warm water (20 seconds). (At Pinewood Studios, the nearest toilets are located just before Actors Studio studio, down the corridor to the right under the covered walk way.) You will be temperature checked before entering our studio. You will be required to sign a Health Declaration before you enter our studio. Please bring a pen with you. You must sanitise hands entering and exiting our studio. Please also regularly sanitise your hands throughout your class. Please wash your hands with soap and warm water (20 seconds) regularly. You must keep a safe distance at all times (markers are in place). Covid Safety Advice Signage will be displayed. Face coverings must be worn at all times unless you have an accessibility need to remove them during your lesson/workshop or medical reason that prohibits you wearing one. With regards to face coverings, we advise they can be removed when there is an accessibility need when you are in class/onset. This means when you are for example on camera or doing specific exercises etc where your covering requires to be removed this can be done with social distancing in place. We will provide students with Face Shields/Visors if needed. If you are to sneeze or cough, you must fully cover your mouth and nose with a tissue. Please dispose of your used tissue in the bin outside and wash your hands immediately. If you do not have a tissue to hand use your sleeve and sneeze or cough into the crook of your elbow. You must alert our Covid Marshal, 1st AD or your Class Tutor immediately if you develop Covid Symptoms during your workshop/course/filming session. If you have any safety concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to your Tutor/Director/ 1ST AD or the Covid Marshal immediately. Our studio is thoroughly sanitised after each class and hot spots regularly cleaned. Any student refusing to adhere to Covid Health and Safety rules will be asked to leave. Actors Studio staff have committed to adhere to all the safety guidelines including: Wearing face coverings at all times unless they have an accessibility need or medical reason that prohibits this. If required, they will be provided with visors to enable lip reading. Washing their hands regularly. Maintaining and promoting social distancing. Undertaking regular temperature checks. Regularly completing a Health Declaration.
Government guidance rules that social gatherings of over 6 people are not allowed. However, this rule does not apply to gatherings for education purposes, so your course/workshop with Actors Studio is exempt. Should the guidance change we will inform students immediately. We have also reduced the size of classes.
No. We are not linked to any educational or government body so in attending any of our courses, you do not require a particular type of visa for you to study with us. Our classes are welcome to everybody and will be taught in English. We ask that international students can speak and read fluent English.
The majority of our courses, including our Masterclass is held at Pinewood Studios. Pinewood is situated a short drive from Uxbridge Tube Station. London courses are typically held at Conway Hall or Old Diorama Arts Centre unless otherwise specified. Please ensure you read instructions specific for your course.
Pinewood Studios is accessible via car and public transport. Pinewood is located 20 miles from Soho and just 8 miles from Heathrow. It is also close to the M4, M25 and M40, giving direct access to London. Free parking is available on site.
Where travelling with Public Transport, Pinewood is nearby to Uxbridge Tube Station, Slough Station and Gerrards Cross Station. A free shuttle bus service operates to these locations all day, making travel to the studios easy.
Our courses and showreel packages often include filming on location. Locations can very depending on season and availability. Locations as part of a course are usually always within a 7 mile radius of Pinewood Studios to limit travel time.
Upon completing our Masterclass in Screen Acting, students will be issued with our Four Week Diploma Certificate. Other courses are not presented with a certificate, but on request through firstname.lastname@example.org this can be arranged.
We suggest wearing cool, comfortable clothing to ensure you can be free to participate in physical movement. Specific costume requirements are outlined if you are filming a showreel.
Upon booking of a course, we will request a copy of your acting CV. We ask for this to ensure we can offer you the best training possible and we know your acting experience prior to arrival. While a professional headshot is not necessary, we do ask for a simple photo on a plain background so we can assess how you will look on screen and prepare for make-up requirements there appropriate.
