Over 5 Evenings, train with industry heavyweight Sue Dunderdale to unlock the skills required to develop confidence and skill on screen. Through a multitude of workshop exercises you will start to understand conventional dimensions of an actor, from the script analysis, character development and improvisations.
This unique course will allow you to progress your ability both technically and performance through monologues and duologue filming. This course is designed for both drama school graduates and beginner actor who are looking for the next steps in acting.

Sue Dunderdale has an impressive background in the world of Theatre, Film and TV Directing. Her commitment to fostering both new talent and working with BAFTA award-winning actors underscores her versatility and dedication to the craft.
Having coached and directed acclaimed actors such as Helena Bonham Carter and Clarke Peters, Sue has worked with BAFTA-winning performers, contributing to their success on screen.
The Building Blocks of Performance
Weekly Evening Sessions
Session 1: Stage vs Screen
Develop understanding of differences between stage and screen, film as a visual media, alongside differences needed for TV.
Session 2: Exploring Character Techniques
Explore character techniques with a monologue on camera, watch back and review with analysis from tutor and class.
Session 3: Improvisation
Explore improvisational skills to further build character development and script analysis.
Session 4: Stakes, Objectives and Status
Start to build script analysis into duologue scenes with SOS (Stakes, Objectives and Status) character backstory inline with narrative. Working with actions.
Session 5: Filming of Scenes
Incorporate learnings into performance of duologue on camera with direction and blocking.
To build your confidence you will start by learning the differences between stage and screen performance, applying the technical skills of acting on camera, whilst working with monologues as you begin to understand how to develop a character.
Once you’ve become more comfortable with yourself on camera, Sue will start to assemble the building blocks of how to act in a scene. This will be achieved by the introduction of duologues where you will learn the techniques required to listen and react through improvisation, script analysis and working with actions.
By the end of these 5 practical sessions, you will have gained an understanding of acting techniques for screen and apply them in a filmed workshop performance.
