Do you find auditions terrifying? Are you not getting the bookings from your self tapes? Do you wonder why, when you make it onto set, what you thought was your best performance doesn’t make the cut? This exciting new course with Director and actor James Larkin will give both emerging talent and established actors an insight into what works on screen, both small and big. Having worked with Dame Judi Dench, Mark Rylance, Emma Thompson, Sam Mendes and Sir Michael Gambon, James is giving you a unique opportunity to develop your craft and shoot two fresh cinematic scenes for your showreel.
This course will enable you to create a performance that is free, hugely watchable, intriguing and undeniably human.
James’ Credits Include:
DAYS 1 AND 2
TRAINING DAYS: Intensive Practical training in front of camera with the Director covering shot sizes, eye lines, and personal continuity. Students will also cover and practice a range of immersive acting techniques led by James Larkin.
SCENE REHEARSAL: Working closely with the Director, students will be given scenes suited to casting type, strength and natural performance, where they will gain an understanding of rehearsal techniques to ensure confidence in performance on the shoot day.
DAYS 4 AND 5
SHOOT AND POST PRODUCTION: 8am to 6pm Students will use their new skills and confidence to shoot the scene with a professional crew. Content will be expertly edited and ideal for use as a new showreel or added to existing content.
This course will give you a chance to tap into James’ 30 years of experience in-front and behind the camera, and an opportunity to be considered when he’s casting future productions.
When making a booking you acknowledge and accept that, due to the nature of the Entertainment industry, named Directors are susceptible to change at short notice. Actors Studio will notify customers of these changes and find a suitable alternative.
You can also work with James Larkin on our Masterclass in Screen Acting.
