Whether you’re a seasoned performer or just dipping your toes into the world of acting, this competition offers a platform to captivate audiences with your talent and creativity. But before you take center stage, it’s essential to understand the rules to give you the greatest chance of success!

Get your pens out and self-taping kit at the ready. We’re asking actors to write and record an original 1 minute comedy monologue for a chance to win our biggest prize ever!
Theme:
We’re on the hunt for laughs. Your monologue should fall into the comedy genre. Examples include Black Comedy, Slapstick and Satire.
Length:
Your performance must not exceed 1 minute (60 seconds).
Writing:
Your written monologue must include the phrase ‘without a trace’. This cannot be split up and must be said as it’s written here. Tip: don’t let this dictate your story!
Edit:
Please introduce yourself, state the title of your monologue entry ‘for the Actors Studio Monologue Competition’. For example: “‘Hello, my name is Tom Cruise, this is ‘Mission Impossible’ for the Actors Studio Monologue Competition!”. This does not count towards your 60 second limit. There must be no cuts between your introduction and your monologue – it has to play as one single take.
Submission:
Please submit your monologue via WeTransfer to info@actorsstudio.co.uk by midnight on Friday 12th April 2024. Please write your full name, your phone number and your instagram handle. Then tag two friends on our Instagram post who you challenge to enter!
Keep us in the loop with your progress and share behind the scenes on Instagram – we’ll share your story to our followers (and your competitors) so be careful what you post!
Winner:
The winning monologue will be published across all Actors Studio platforms.
Rules of entry:
- You must be following @actors_studiouk on Instagram – this is where we will announce the winner!
- You must tag two friends on our post about the competition on Instagram.
- You must be subscribed to our VIP list – if you’re not already subscribed you can submit your name and email address in the footer of our website below.
- Please only submit video footage that you have filmed for the purpose of this competition. You must slate at the beginning as mentioned in the ‘edit’ section and include the phrase.
- Backstage Membership is for UK entries only.
- Submissions made after midnight on Friday 12th April 2024 will not be accepted.
- Your performance must not exceed 1 minute (60 seconds).
- Prizes will be issued once a winner has been announced on Wednesday 8th May 2024.
