We’re absolutely thrilled to share some fantastic news for our acting community. A number of actors who attended Actors Studio’s Tactical Firearms Course have been cast in the highly anticipated third season of the BBC thriller The Capture, starring Holliday Grainger, and they’re playing tactical firearms officers on screen.

This season is already generating buzz and is scheduled to premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this spring 2026. Our Firearms team specialise in delivering tactical response units for Film & TV, and whilst hosting our course they hand picked students to join them on set.

The Capture BBC

What The Capture Is All About

The Capture is a critically acclaimed British mystery thriller that explores truth and deception in the digital age. Led by Holliday Grainger as Commander Rachel Carey, the story delves into conspiracies, surveillance, and the power — and peril — of modern technology.

Across its first two series, DI Rachel Carey investigates cases that unearth manipulated footage, questioning what we can trust in a world filled with deepfakes and misinformation. The upcoming third season continues this theme with new threats and escalating tension, asking: “How do you protect the truth when seeing is no longer believing?”

Why Tactical Firearms Training Matters for Actors

Screen acting, especially in high-stakes thrillers like The Capture, demands more than just hitting marks or delivering lines. When the role calls for tactical realism, precision and safety are everything. That’s where our Tactical Firearms Course makes a real difference:

  • On-set readiness: Our training ensures actors handle firearms confidently and safely under the pressure of production schedules.
  • Authenticity on camera: Directors and stunt coordinators often look for performers who can execute movements with believable technique.
  • Professionalism: Completing recognised tactical training demonstrates discipline and commitment to craft; qualities that casting teams value.

For the actors who took part in this course and were subsequently cleared to work on a BBC production, it’s not just a testament to their talent but proof of how specialist preparation can open doors.

What This Means for Your Career

Every actor’s journey is unique, but stories like this show how investing in specialised skills can give you a competitive edge especially in genre work that involves action, law enforcement, or military roles.

We’ve always believed in training that bridges the gap between technique and industry expectations. Real opportunities like this underscore just how impactful the right preparation can be.

If you’re curious about stepping into roles that demand both emotional depth and physical confidence, our courses are designed with your career in mind. Click Here to learn more about our upcoming firearms course for actors.
