This engaging and immersive course is designed specifically for multilingual actors seeking to master a refined RP (Received Pronunciation) accent. Running over five weekly evening Zoom sessions, this course provides a practical and interactive approach to building confidence and precision in your speech.
In the first session, you’ll establish a solid foundation by focusing on pronunciation and sound placement, mastering the subtle nuances that bring clarity and distinction to your voice.

Weds 26th March: Pronunciation and Sound Placement
- Introduction to the muscle movements for English speech.
- Targeting challenging sounds and sound combinations.
Weds 2nd April: Linking, Intonation, and Rhythm
- Focus on intonation, rhythm, and musicality of English.
- Exercises on linking sounds and natural flow.
Weds 9th April: Accent-Specific Practice with Texts
- Working on specific texts to identify accent challenges.
- Listening and observation exercises for identifying problem areas.
Weds 16th April: Practicing & Feedback
- Text-based practice with instructor feedback via video.
Weds 23rd April: Application in Performance
- Apple your new skills in a performance, receiving final feedback and advice to carry forward.
- Leave the course with skills and techniques to apply for any scene.

Louise Jones is a Voice and Accent coach with a wealth of experience in theatre, TV, and film. She graduated from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2012 with an MA in Voice Studies, having trained under the wise guidance of Jane Boston. With a passion for voice, text, and accent work, she began developing her unique methodology while teaching at renowned drama schools, including Arts Ed, Italia Conti, Mountview Theatre Arts, and L.A.M.D.A.
Currently, Louise divides her time between teaching at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and working on a range of theatre, TV, and film productions. Her professional credits include collaborations with Tara Arts, Southwark Playhouse, Northern Stage, and Clean Break in association with The Royal Court Theatre.
