The Audition, Business & Craft course is extremely intensive, designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to work in this industry. Not just your responsibilities in front of the camera, but how you go about ensuring you get the job in the first place – how you market yourself, make yourself stand out in a casting (for all the right reasons!), understanding the language of screen and the roles of those on the other side of the camera.
It is designed to be a repeatable course, continually helping you grow as a performer, the course also constantly evolves to keep up to date with the current en vogue audition practices, showreel requirements and practitioners methodologies.
The course culminates in the filming of specifically selected material designed to showcase talents specific to each actor. This is filmed and edited by a professional crew at the world famous Pinewood Studios.
Written with professional actors and casting directors, this is a course for the professional actor and is also the perfect follow on from our Emerging Talent Advancement Course.
Covering all the practicalities you need for working in the industry today – including understanding the screen casting process, tips and tricks for improving audition technique, sight reading, self taping, actors will look at different acting methods to assist in bringing scripts to life on screen, making themselves stand out in the audition and ultimately get that role!
To complete the course, all actors will be cast in scenes chosen specifically to showcase their individual talents. Actors will then shoot their scene with a professional crew and with their experienced instructor who will have already shared knowledge on shot sizes, continuity, eye lines, hitting marks and everything needed to leave the actors to enjoy their filming experience, producing work that shows off their skills and abilities and then leave the course feeling prepared and confident when attending their next audition.
This course leads perfectly on the The Actor’s Professional Development Course.
This course is lead by actor Sarah Hannah, who, as well as currently working at the BBC, regularly sits on audition panels and is heavily involved with the casting process and working with actors at the beginning of their career.
