Take a non-text based approach to your performance, focusing upon expanding the emotional spectrum of the actor, borrowing various techniques from body-oriented personal growth modalities, such as Radix and Bioenergetics on this full-day workshop with BAFTA winning Director Jon East & Certified Transactional Analyst Jay East. Drawing on his 28 years of directing experience, Jon will raise awareness of possible blocks to your emotional freedom and teach tried and tested exercises designed to help unlock your full potential.

Exercises for the Actor

The methods used will help make you aware of the unconscious aspects of your embodied psycho-physiological structures, which might be limiting the range of emotional authenticity that you can access whilst performing.

You’ll be offered exercises to address these, where if consistently applied will expand your range of authenticity in performance to screen.

Emotional and Physical Improvement

The techniques Jon and Jay draw upon are emotional-physical in nature and involve group work and paired couples, requiring movement, touch and directed verbal exchanges. You’ll experience the exercises, learn about their theoretical underpinnings and gain an understanding of how they can be employed to enhance the authenticity of your performances.
