Meet Your Tutors

Tim is a former Talent Agent who represented many household names from the world of entertainment. In 2004, he founded the successful actor training company, Actors Studio where he’s created a host of popular actor training courses and has a huge wealth of experience in coaching and directing actors. Now working as an Award-Winning Director, Tim’s credits include The Prowler starring Dominic Rowan and Linette Beaumont Winner of The 2016 Best British Film award at the Portsmouth International Film Festival. Tim has also produced training films in Screen Acting that are distributed by The National Theatre book shop and Samuel French.

Mel is one of the top dialogue and acting coaches in the industry, where she has worked on over 50 major film and TV projects. The full list can be found on IMDb. Projects include working with leading actors on films and TV projects: Marco Polo, Chalet Girl, The Lady, Berbarian Sound Studio, Sherlock Holmes, The Last Station, Control. By working as a voice coach, actor, acting teacher, writer and director has allowed her to learn and understand the depth of the interconnected nature of all human expression.

When Mel teaches acting for screen, her approach is new and different. Some coaches teach rehearsal processes, others screen technique, however Mel believes that both are fundamental for any actor. During workshops, Mel uses a camera and monitor, which allows the actor to see the results of their work on the screen.

Some of the actors Mel has coached (voice, dialect or acting) for theatre, film or TV (in alphabetical order): Gerard Butler, Henry Cavill, Noel Clarke, Charlie Cox, Daniel Craig, Benedict Cumberbatch,  Christopher Egan, Laurence Fox, Paul Giamatti, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Djimon Hounsou, Milla Jovovich, Angelina Jolie, Sam Riley, Michelle Ryan, Sheridan Smith, Edward Speleers, Jon Voight, Ray Winstone & Billy Zane.

To assist actors in their development of a role, Clare draws upon her extensive experience as a theatre director and vocal coach. She has developed a series of exercises where the essential free flow of the breath links the movement of the diaphragm with the handling of the breath by the lips and tongue. This will ensure clear diction and a strength of emotional connection.

Clare Davidson, is an acting coach with a worldwide reputation. She has trained many stars including Sting, Pierce Brosnan, Stephen Rea, Dudley Moore, Liam Neeson, Brian Cox, Patricia Hodge, Maureen Lipman, Jim Broadbent (Academy Award 2002), Ian Charleson, Jennifer Ehle, Francesca Annis, Harriet Walter, Orlando Bloom, Jack Whitehall, directed in London’s West End and off-Broadway, and held academic positions in colleges and universities in America and the United Kingdom.

Producer and Director Flaminia Graziadei, who trained between Italy and the UK, has a career developed between Cinema and Theatre spanning over 25 years. Since moving back to London in 2012, she created her production company LonRom Film Production Ltd.

Credits include Arrivederci Rosa, a short comedy which won Gold Award for Directing at the International Independent Film Awards, Best Comedy at the Accolade Global Film Award, World Cinema Award at the  Culver City International FF in  LA, Grand Jury Trophy at the LGBTQA FF and Silver Remi Award at the World Fest Houston. The film has been selected in more than 20 Film Festivals worldwide. The Final Haunting, her first official feature on the consequences of child abuse, was awarded Best Actress at the London Independent Film Festival 2015.

Steve Finn has been working as a Broadcast Television Director for over 20 years. His many credits include: London’s Burning, Hollyoaks, Casualty, The Bill and Holby City. Steve is currently one of the Directors on Eastenders and has worked on the award-winning show since 1995. Steve is an immensely popular Director and is known for his nurturing, friendly and enthusiastic approach when working with actors.

Director and Producer, Taz Ayoub launched his professional career after graduating from Exeter University with a BA (Hons) Film Studies.  Taz has worked continuously throughout his career and has extensive experience in Television and Film production with over 40 projects under his belt so far. Actors Studio is very excited to offer actors the opportunity to work with Taz – one of the Industry’s most up and coming new Directors.
